Getting to La Roche D’Hys

 

La Roche D'Hys  Domaine des Arts is an isolated farm domaine situated iin the heart of the Auxois region of Burgundy, France about 50 km north east of DIJON . 

 

La Roche D’Hys is easily  accessible by train or by car

 

If you are arriving by train someone will pick you up at either MONTBARD or LES LAUMES ALESIA train stations. Booking in advance is less expensive There is also a discount for under 26 and 60+.

 

Arriving at Airport Paris Charles de Gaulle :

 

From the Airport, you will have to go into Paris by RER which takes about 30 minutes. Please note: You can now use a foreign credit card to buy train tickets in the machines .  Allow time for long lineups.

 

RER costs about 12 euros.

 

There are numerous train stations in Paris.

 

You will want either:

 

GARE DE LYON ( TGV high speed trains only – limited number per day)

or

GARE BERCY (regular TER trains almost hourly)

 

TGV is a fast train only 1 hour from GARE DE LYON to MONTBARD but more expensive( unless you book well in advance)  about 40 Euros one way and less frequent.  The TER is the local takes 2 hours 20 minutes but is a bit cheaper and runs every hour. Directions to GARE DE LYON from CDG Airport:

 

Take RER train to Paris. Takes about 30 minutes.

Get off at CHATELET walk directly across to facing platform and take the train from that platform for ONE STOP to GARE DE LYON. At Gare de Lyon look for signs GRANDES LIGNES.

Once inside main station  at Gare de Lyon, you can purchase train ticket to MONTBARD. Once you’ve purchased your ticket just check the board for the track to DIJON VILLE .

 

*Don't forget to compost your ticket in the little orange box before you board the train. (possible fine if you don’t)

  

Directions to GARE BERCY from CDG airport:

 

Take the RER to Paris  

Takes about 30 minutes

Get off at CHATELET follow signs for METRO LINE 14  ( short walk) 

Take the Metro 14  direction Olympia for 2 stops

Get off at BERCY. At Bercy,  you will need to exit the metro station and look for signs to GARE BERCY.  A short walk down the street.

Inside the main station at Bercy, you can purchase train ticket to  LES LAUMES ALESIA. Once you’ve purchased your ticket just check the board for the track direction DIJON VILLE or LYON.

 

*Don't forget to compost your ticket in the little orange box before you board the train. (possible fine if you don't)

 

Directions from ORLY:   Metro Line 14  to BERCY or GARE DE LYON  and follow the above directions to either Les Laumes Alesia or Montbard  

Finally:

 

Once you confirm which train you are on, You will be met at the station and taken to the  La Roche D’Hys by car.  Any questions please do not hesitate to ask
