ACCOMMODATIONS

 

La Roche D’Hys is not a holiday resort nor a hotel.  Participating guests are accomodated on site in the comfortable 10 bedroom farm house plus 4 lofted studios in the garden annex. It is communal style living. The atmosphere is friendly and very informal. There is no staff. Everyone is expected to pitch in and help with clearing up after meals and maintaining the place livable.

 

Accomodation is based on double or triple occupancy. Shared bathroom facilities. The rooms are large and bright with breathtaking views. No two rooms alike. There are two fully equipped kitchens. Food and wine are supplied in abundance . Other facilities include main concert/rehearsal hall with grand piano, dance studio with piano, practice rooms some with upright piano or keyboard, a library with grand piano VCR/DVD player, gardens and nature trails.

 

On site services available : Wi-Fi access available on site if you bring your own computer.

 

Telephone: If  you have a cell phone check to see if you can use it in Europe. You may need to get a another sim card. Purchasing a simple telephone card is highly recommended  for emergencies and can be used anywhere in France. Available at the TABAC/ RELAY stores at the airport. 

 

For long distance: No charge to receive calls. Better still if you do have own laptop is simply using SKYPE, WhatsApp Facetime etc. Cheap/free and easy.

 

The nearest town is VITTEAUX, a charming medieval village – 3.5 Km down the hill which has all basic necessities such as gas station, banking, bakery, supermarket, pharmacy, doctor and dentist.
